Holocaust Memorial Day Reflections at Highgate Hill House School

On 27th January, learners at Highgate Hill House School took part in activities to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, reflecting on this important moment in history and its lessons for kindness, respect, and remembrance.

Secondary learners attended a school assembly, engaging thoughtfully with the history of the Holocaust and the stories of those affected. Primary learners participated in a range of age-appropriate activities, designed to help them understand the significance of remembrance and the importance of empathy in their everyday lives.

School Principal Kerry Taylor said:

“Holocaust Memorial Day is a vital opportunity for our learners to reflect on history, understand the importance of respect and kindness, and develop a deeper sense of empathy. We are proud of how thoughtfully our learners engaged with these activities.”

The school continues to embed opportunities for reflection and learning about diversity, tolerance, and human rights throughout the curriculum.
