Highgate Hill House School Spreads Festive Cheer at Local Care Home

On 15th December, learners and staff from Highgate Hill House School visited St Anne’s Residential Home to share festive cheer with local residents as part of the school’s commitment to community connection and kindness.

During the visit, learners spent time chatting with residents, offering mince pies and presenting handmade Christmas cards. The experience provided a meaningful opportunity for learners to practise social skills, build confidence, and engage positively with members of the wider community, while bringing warmth and joy to residents during the festive season.

Kerry Taylor, School Principal at Highgate Hill House School, commented:

“This visit was a wonderful example of our learners showing compassion, respect and confidence in a real-world setting. Experiences like this help our learners develop important life skills while also making a positive difference to others. We are incredibly proud of how they represented the school and helped spread some much-needed Christmas cheer.”

The visit reflects Highgate Hill House School’s ongoing focus on nurturing empathy, social responsibility and meaningful community engagement, ensuring learners are supported to thrive both within and beyond the classroom.
