Planned School Works
I am pleased to inform you of two projects which should commence in the summer term, depending on planning approval.
1. Car Park
Due to pupil and staff increases and our ambition to continue improving the school we have been exploring for some time how we could create better parking facilities and outside sporting and play areas. After lengthy discussion with our landlord, we are pleased to say that planning permission has been submitted for a new car parking area across the lane from the sports field. This should make parking for parents/carers, staff and visitors easier, plus make the lanes around the school safer and less congested for everyone. If the planning process is straightforward, we anticipate that groundworks will begin anytime soon, and that the new car park that can cater for around 40 cars will be complete and ready to use from the beginning of the Autumn term or earlier.
2. Sports Pitch
As soon as the car park works are complete, works will then commence on our new larger and improved sports pitch and outside play area which will also be located next to the new car park. The school landlord, prior to the school opening, had obtained planning permission to build a small number of residential properties on our existing sports pitch and as a part of this planning consent it was agreed that we would use this opportunity to create a better sports pitch and outside play area for our children – the intention (subject to planning) is to have this in place by September 2020. In the meantime whilst waiting, we have started work on creating a temporary sports field play area at the side of the school behind the mansion house, this will be ready for use soon. These are exciting developments and a part of our continued investment in the school - I will provide an update in the next school newsletter. For further information or comment please visit the school website.
Please be assured that the health, safety and wellbeing of our children is at the heart of all we do and we will take all the necessary steps to ensure they are safe and that this work creates as little disruption as possible - the school will therefore be operating as usual during this period.
I am grateful for your continued support.
