Highgate Hill House Welcomes New Principal, Kerry Taylor, to the School

Highgate Hill House School, an independent school for children with social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs aged 5 to 16 years, near Holsworthy, is pleased to announce that a new Principal, with ambitious plans, is now in place.

Kerry Taylor, who was previously Deputy Headteacher at the school, has taken over the reins from previous Headteacher Gina Wagland, who has secured a new role in the South East to be closer to her family.

New Principal Kerry, said: “I would like to take this opportunity to thank Gina on behalf of everyone at Highgate Hill House School for everything she has accomplished in the last two years, and wish her well in her new role”.

Kerry added: “Having worked as Deputy Head at Highgate for the last year, with nineteen years in education under my belt – nine of those in school leadership, I feel I’m in a strong position to take on the Principal role. I am also just about to complete a Diploma with Trauma Informed Schools to become a TISUK Practitioner, so I look forward to being able to implement those learnings across the school, which will no doubt benefit all of our young people in some way.

Chair of Governors, Tracey Storey, said: “Kerry, along with the rest of the staff at Highgate Hill House School, are supported by an experienced and knowledgable senior management team with a passion for SEN provision, having joined the Melrose Education group in July 2022. We wish her every success in this exciting new chapter for the school”.
