Julie has many years of experience in Education. She has a first degree in Chemistry and Education, Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, Masters Degrees in Women’s Studies and Librarianship and Information Studies.
She has also worked in a variety of teaching and learning environments, including Teaching English as a Foreign Language at a private school in Europe, Learning Resource Centre management at a Further Education College and in Education and Training in the National Health Service.
As well as the Board Chair, Julie is also responsible for safeguarding.

Finance & Administration
Jon has a vast experience in finance and administrative tasks in schools, Local Authorities, and private businesses.
He has been the director of AdminRescue since 2007, giving administrative & book keeping assistance to small companies. He was previously a performance manager for Devon County council, monitoring capital programmes.
Before this, he was the School Business Manager at two schools following a career in banking.
He is also a member of the Institute of Certified Bookkeepers.
Vice Chair of Board
Before her role as Visiting Professor, Christine held many top leadership positions such as Director - Department of Health and Social Services, Welsh Government and later director of Leadership for 44 hospitals across Wales.
She achieved outstanding service improvement and leadership development. Christine is President of International Dance Council/UNESCO UK promoting UN values to enhance cultural and social cohesion.
Her engagement with the Mayor of London has resulted in confirmation that dance, as well as sports, will be considered as part of diversity policy agenda.
She also advises on organisational change, mergers, leadership and talent development and has been a regular speaker at the UK and International conferences.
Sir Peter Birkett

School Founder, Ambassador and Head of Strategy and Partnerships
As a British educator and entrepreneur with over 30 years experience, Sir Peter’s ambition is to find and deliver innovative solutions that ensure every student regardless of their age, ability or background receives the very best education, training and progression opportunities.
Awarded a Knighthood in the Queen’s 2012 Birthday Honours for Services to Further Education, Schools and the Academy movement, Peter founded the UK's first college-led Federation turning around two underperforming schools and taking the college to number 1 in the UK for 16 – 18-year-olds.
He has held Government advisory and Director roles on several National Boards, and continues to present at national and international conferences around the world.
RNMH, BEd(Hons), NPQH
Vicky has been working with children and young people with additional and complex needs since 1987 and she is passionate about the role of education in transforming lives.
She first trained as a nurse for people with learning difficulties, before going to Cambridge University and qualifying as an upper primary teacher in 1994.
She has taught across all key stages for children with barriers to learning and complex needs.

Marketing & Communications Manager
Charlotte has a vast experience of marketing to potential parents and professionals, using online and offline channels.
Very passionate about putting Highgate Hill House School on the map within the SEN community, Charlotte has developed a range of above and below-the-line marketing skills in previous Marketing and PR management roles in both the public and private sectors, in the UK and Germany.

Dr Martin Stephens
Martin was a former High Master of Manchester Grammar School, an independent school in Manchester.
He served as chairman of The Headmasters' and Headmistresses' Conference, a group of 250 independent schools.
In 2004 he moved from Manchester independent school to High Master of St Paul's school, London.
Professor Pat Preedy
Pat has had a long and distinguished career in education including being global Chief Academic Officer for early childhood education (GEMS Education), Executive Principal of a school catering for pupils aged 3 -18 years with boarding, Head Teacher of one of the first Beacon Schools in the UK and a reporting Inspector for ISI (Independent School Inspectorate.
